Phethile Dhlamini- a simple KZN small town girl with impactful World Wide Web dreams! I am final year student at the University of the Western Cape (B.com Information systems and Management) on paper and an invention enthusiast at heart. Understanding change and how it can enable us for our betterment is what drives me, and this drive is further fed when I am able to spread it to those around me. I believe that Technology and Systems will do nothing for us if we fail to contextualize it to our everyday reality as South Africans. As a lively social creative that has a mild extrovert personality, alongside an entrepreneurial mind, gathered by philosophical thoughts and unconventional ideas, I can safely assume that I am proof that technology is not just for ‘geeks’ but for everyone! I look forward to playing my role in materializing my ideals as a UWC tech leader, in the amidst of these times of uncertainty and dire need for innovative and progressive action.
I'm Liyakhanya Candy Tabata, born and raised in Eastern Cape. I graduated from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 2019, with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. I’m currently pursuing my Honors degree in Computer Science, with an interest in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I’m also currently a Vice Chairperson in Women In Computer Science (WICS) Club and Head of Media in Math Club both at UWC. I joined the Future Tech Club because I believe in gaining knowledge from giving off knowledge and that the learning process is a never-ending process. I love helping out and the small impact we make with the students may change some of their lives forever. As Benjamin Franklin says “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”.

I am Ziyanda Dzanibe born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal, Harding. I am a final year student at the University of the Western Cape majoring in Computer Science and Information Systems.
I am family-oriented, and I enjoy helping others. I chose computer science because it is an intellectual challenge, and you can do incredible things in every area of human knowledge and operation.
I chose Future Tech simply because I believe that everyone deserves technology education and, as we are now moving to 4IR, it will be beneficial for everyone to have basic technological skills and I think that the UWC Future Tech Club is the best platform to learn and reach out to others.
